World Migratory Bird Day - Birds Connect Our World

2020-05-09 04:13

World Migratory Bird Day is a UN event, annually held on the second weekend of May. The theme for 2020 is “Birds Connect Our World” to highlight the importance of conserving and restoring the ecological connectivity and integrity of ecosystems that support the natural movements of migratory birds and that are essential for their survival and well-being.

Let's celebrate this day while keeping social distancing by doing some bird-related activities. Here are a few ideas to reach nature and relieve stress during the quarantine.

  1. Make a recycled bird feeder. You can turn your yard into a bird-friendly place simply from a plastic bottle, orange peel, coffee can, or even a toilet roll!

  2. Build a recycled birdhouse or birdbath. Use old boots, vintage teapot, old lamps, etc. to create nice homes and provide clean water for birds.
