Last year on 2019.07.29, Ethiopia had a record breaking tree-planting initiative, over 350 million trees were planted in just one day to counter the effects of deforestation and climate change.
Similarly on 2019.08.09, India also planted 220 million saplings in northern Uttar Pradesh. Again, it's done in one day.
Tree-planting is called afforestation, it's the opposite of deforestation. Afforestation is one of the most effective climate change solution to date, and surprisingly develop countries didn't try this large scale of afforestation before. Participants of above 2 tree-planting initiatives are millions of volunteers. If they can achieve this great contribution in one day, so can other countries.
Let's work together and be as ambitious as Ethiopia and India, to restore the forest in even larger scale by people around the world to combat climate crisis and to achieve zero net emission.
